First Atlantic Bank PLC inaugurates medical staff quarters at Ziavi in the Ho Municipality

First Atlantic Bank PLC, the Digital Bank of the Year, has inaugurated medical staff quarters at Ziavi within the Ho Municipality in the Volta Region. This initiative underscores the bank’s commitment to supporting healthcare and enhancing the well-being of communities across Ghana as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) philosophy.

The official inauguration ceremony took place on Friday, July 12, 2024. In attendance were the Chiefs of Ziavi, Local Government Officials, Community Leaders, Healthcare Professionals, and Representatives of First Atlantic Bank PLC.

The newly constructed facility is equipped with solar panels for additional power supply and a water reservoir to provide comfortable and convenient housing, addressing the accommodation challenges of the medical staff working in the community.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Amarquaye Armar, the Board Chairman of First Atlantic Bank PLC, acknowledged that healthcare is the cornerstone of a thriving society, highlighting that, “At First Atlantic Bank PLC, we recognize that access to quality healthcare is not just a necessity but a fundamental human right.”

This is one of many CSR undertakings by First Atlantic Bank PLC that aims to enhance access to health and education for women and children in our society. In 2018, First Atlantic Bank PLC successfully built and handed over a well-equipped “Mother and Baby Care Unit” to the people of Talensi in the Upper East Region.

Subsequently, in 2019, they built and handed over a Classroom Unit to the Cape Coast School for the Blind and Deaf. Then came the fit-for-purpose lounge at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, also in 2019, to lessen the distress of mothers, children, and the general public who get fatigued when waiting on patients or family members receiving health care. That is not all. In 2022, they constructed a new 6-classroom block and renovated an existing dilapidated 6-classroom block to offer a decent place of learning for the people of Abua in the Bono East Region.

In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Perfect Titiati, the Medical Director of the Ho Municipal Assembly, said, “This generous contribution by First Atlantic Bank PLC will make a significant difference in the lives of our medical staff. With suitable accommodation, our doctors and nurses can now focus on providing excellent care to our patients without worrying about their living conditions.”
